About Me!

Hi Everybody! Welcome to Health Nutting!

I’m Liza and I’ll be starting my senior year of college in September. I go to the University of Pennsylvania and love it there– great place, great people, great classes. I’m from the Boston area and I’m the youngest of 3– and the only girl! My family and friends are very important to me– I feel very lucky to have them.

Why Am I Writing This Blog?

I think my health nutting began probably in my last year of high school. Throughout high school I was very athletic– I played lacrosse, and some soccer too. And before that, I danced for about 10 years. I think that by senior year of high school, I just realized what made me feel good– healthy food and exercise. I also now love yoga: how it makes me feel as well as its message of mindfulness, listening to my body, and loving it for all that it does instead of criticizing it for not being able to do something or for not looking a certain way. I’m also dancing again now– I missed it so much! And I love running too– being outside is fantastic!

Currently, I’m sort of a pescatarian (but no shellfish), but I very rarely eat fish. I really prefer eating vegetarian– it makes me feel good. I also like eating vegetarian for environmental reasons as well.

Probably around wintertime of sophomore year, I stumbled upon the first healthy living blog I’d ever read. And from there– as I’m sure you all know– I just kept finding more and more. It became my favorite little study break! I loved knowing that there were other people passionate about living a healthy life. Fast forward to last summer — I’d had a fair bit of down time and was beginning to feel like my summer was completely going to waste and that I wasn’t doing anything. Enter two projects:

1. Starting this blog.

2. Teaching myself photography.

I’ve always been intrigued by photography as an art. I’m still very much intimidated and excited by my new camera and am hoping to continue learning more about it and taking more pictures!

I took a very long hiatus from my blog during the school year– life got busy and my blog was the first thing to go. This summer however, I have time and so I’ve decided to start blogging again as I really do enjoy it. I hoping to create a less time consuming blogging schedule for myself that can hopefully be sustained throughout the school year too. I am passionate about healthy living and hope to post on a variety of topics!

Thanks for visiting my blog! Enjoy!

    Thanks! 🙂
My major is called the Biological Basis of Behavior– and interdisciplinary major mostly combining biology and psychology. I love it, it’s fascinating!
I saw you’re studying nutrition– so cool! I’m planning on taking an intro nutrition course this semester! What year are you at?

Love your blog! UPenn is such a beautiful school, it was one of the schools I visited! We seem to have a lot in common…it’s tricky maintaining healthy habits when everyone around you subsists on chips, Easy Mac, and Red Bull.

So glad to have found your blog! I’m in Boston now, and just can’t get enough of health blogs.

Also, has anyone ever told you you look like Jessica Brown-Findlay? (Lady Sybil on Downton Abbey…) So pretty!
